I figured out at a very young age that licking the bowl clean after the cake batter had been scraped into the tin was absolutely the best way to spend a sunday afternoon. That particular baker’s perk led me to bake more and more, protecting mixing bowls from my brother’s pinching fingers as I went. Gradually I began to love the baking for more than just an opportunity for a cheeky snack on uncooked batter and other ingredients, and I’ve been baking ever since.

Butter Nut is a blog to share with you new recipes, unusual approaches to old favourites and all those nifty tricks and tips that mothers and grandmothers worldwide seem to just know without ever having had to learn.
